9-Ball Rules
9-Ball is a fast-paced rotation game played with balls 1-9. Players must always hit the lowest numbered ball first.

Legally pocket the 9-ball at any point to win the game.
Break Rules
- Balls are racked in a diamond shape with the 1-ball at the apex and 9-ball in the center.
- The breaker must hit the 1-ball first.
- At least four balls must hit cushions or a ball must be pocketed.
- Making the 9-ball on the break wins the game (in most rule sets).
Legal Shot Rules
- Must hit the lowest numbered ball on the table first.
- If the 9-ball is made on a legal shot, even as a combination, the shooter wins.
- Push-out: After the break, the incoming player may play a push-out.
Foul Rules
- Failure to hit the lowest ball first.
- Scratching gives ball-in-hand anywhere on the table.
- No ball hitting a rail after contact (unless a ball is pocketed).
- Three consecutive fouls results in loss of game.
Win Conditions
- Legally pocket the 9-ball.
- Opponent commits three consecutive fouls.
- Opponent scratches while shooting at the 9-ball (in some rule sets).
